Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A robust beautyberry from, indeed, Japan -- think Callicarpa 'Profusion' but with arching branches to 8' or more and larger, deep lavender-purple berries. For us, at the height of color as the leaves turn gold in October and November. Perfect for a woodland garden in dappled shade where sun is very hot or sun in the East. In the West we give ours a bit more sun to encourage early fruit ripening with at least occasional summer water to push it ahead. So far has tested frost hardy to upper USDA zone 6.
