Another evergreen shrub from where the tree manzanita, A. manzanita, comes in contact with the snow mat. This, to three feet or a little more, has glossy green leaves and white flowers in January. Tolerant of heat and drought. Has performed well in our garden, though it is slow growing. Wonderful in contrast with blue-leaved manzanitas. Full sun to part shade, with mineral soil and little summer water. Frost hardy to 0 °F, USDA zone 7.
