Nursery contributed plant descriptions

An eye-catching accent whether in container or garden, the stems of this unusual sedge (a 1-2' high clump) well earn the name ?corkscrew?. S-PSh/MW
This little evergreen (in warmer climates) soft rush is also known as 'Corkscrew Rush'. Tightly spiraled stems fan out in all directions into a clump 14-18" tall and wide. Customers always want to twist the stems around their fingers resulting in a 'tousled' appearance! Likes it wet, will grow in a pot with a saucer of water beneath it, next to a pond or submerged IN a pond. As architectural as it is cute! Likes to bask in the sun with its feet in the mud (spa day).
What a novel little cutie. This form of Juncus has the tightest little coils of wiry foliage. It is a moisture loving plant and will do well around a pond in a bog or in good rich, moist garden soil.
Plant Above Water Level or up to 4" Under

An intriguing selection that lives up to its names, this low-growing spreader bears unusual twisted or corkscrew-like foliage that adds a bit of whismy to the most staid and conservative plantings. Because of its tightly coiled stature, plants generally stay beneath 16" tall, but can spread up to 2' across especially in moist conditions. Plant in water gardens or containers where its unique form may be oggled and admired. Subtle clusters of tawny flowers form at the tips of the slender, dark green foliage. Hardy to 0 °F. Japan.
Twisted clumps. Likes wet, boggy conditions
