A recent introduction from the folks at Primrose Path Nursery, 'Stainless Steel' is a hybrid of H. pubescens displaying silvery foliage etched with purple veins held on wine colored stems, and under sided in a shade of eggplant. 18" dark tinted stems bear the prettiest shrimp pink flowers in early summer, suitable for cutting.
Delicate purple veins form a network through magnificent steely matte-silver foliage. The new growth has a subtle purple patina. The distinctive metallic foliage effect -- believe it or not something distinctive can still come out of heuchera breeding! -- could make this plant a new garden classic. White flowers.
This relatively new Heuchera features foliage that emerges silver with a purple flush.As the foliage matures it becomes almost pure silver with purple undersides. White flowers on 18" scapes begin in late May and continue through June. Like all Heuchera varieties, this one prefers well drained soil and partial sun.
