The Showy Lady Slipper is easy to grow in the garden. Although we don't have it in production, we have several friends that offer it. It can be visited in our display gardens in mid Spring.
Cypripedium reginae is a rare and exquisite winter-hardy orchid with white flowers and delicate fuchsia-pink slippers atop rich green foliage. One to two flowers per stem. Requires two to three hours of direct sunlight per day from morning or late afternoon sun, with part shade during the hottest part of the day. Best in moist but well-drained soil. From eastern Canada and the US. Grown from seed. Some variation will exist from plant to plant.
