Cypripedium reginae is a broadleaf deciduous perennial orchid with green foliage. In spring pink and white flowers emerge. Grows well with mostly shade and even moisture water. Does well in rich and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something verticillium wilt resistant.
The Showy Lady Slipper is easy to grow in the garden. Although we don't have it in production, we have several friends that offer it. It can be visited in our display gardens in mid Spring.

Requires two to three hours of direct sunlight per day from morning or late afternoon sun, with part shade during the hottest part of the day. Best in moist but well-drained soil. From eastern Canada and the US. Grown from seed. Some variation will exist from plant to plant.
