Saponaria ocymoides is a fast-growing broadleaf semi-evergreen perennial with green foliage. In summer pink flowers emerge. Attracts butterflies and hummingbirds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun and even moisture - low water. Does well in average and lean soil.

Zn 2. Pink flowers. Sprawling semi-evergreen.
Flat mats to several feet across, this does not root down as it creeps, making it easy to lift up and trim back the cushion.
A mat forming perennial. The wiry, burgundy stems are clothed in small, rounded, slightly hairy leaves. In late Spring a profusion of sugary pink, five petalled flowers. For any sunny, well drained spot. Ideal for spilling over walls or large pots, among rocks or to trail over paths. If it takes a fancy to your garden it may even self seed.
