Nursery contributed plant descriptions

It's tough to get tougher than Helichrysum argyrophyllum when it comes to groundcovers that can take abuse. This South African native likes to hang in wide open, droughty, hard ground situations in its native land, making it the perfect plant for your hell strip, slope or any dry spot where other plants refuse to grow. Forming a dense weed suppressing dense mat of small grey leaves, cheery yellow daisy flowers with adorable dark centers bloom late Spring through Fall. Long lasting, they make exceptional dried flowers, just snip them about a week before they open & hang upside down in a dry spot. Great as a spiller & filler in container & rocky walls, too! To 4" high & indefinitely wide. Cut back occasionally & feed lightly if needed. Deer disapprove!
