Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Come closer! Each wee bloom on the beautifully composed flowering spikes of this shrubby South African is finely detailed like a fancy slipper with orange polka dots. From a distance it's upright (to 2'x2) & stately ? long blooming (practically ever-blooming ? once it gets going!) with nice symmetry. Far from being well known, this short-lived perennial (sometimes annual) has barely been tested in the garden world & is ripe for some experimental rare plant duets & ensembles. Well drained soil seems to be the ticket, or try it in a container. Either will help prevent a soggy death. Sun loving, but tolerant of shade, the toothy green leaves stay evergreen where hardy.
