Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This compact rounded 3-4' boxwood shrub was chosen by the Chicago Botanic Garden for its exceptional cold tolerance which allows it to keep its bright, glossy-green foliage longer into the winter. This cultivar makes a wonderful low hedge that can be sheared for a formal garden or left alone for a more casual look. S-PSh /M
Excellent cold hardiness, surviving 32 degrees below zero F with no dieback. A broad-leaved boxwood that resembles an English box in appearance. It has a uniform wide-oval habit, good winter color, and is easy to propagate. Grows 3' to 4' in height with a 5' spread in 15 years. Selected at Chicago Botanic Garden.
