Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Frantoio is considered the most notable Tuscan olive variety and its oil is considered one of the highest prized in the world. The softly-textured, silvery blue-green, willow-like, evergreen foliage of the Olive provides and excellent backdrop for reds and darker colors. Frantoio is self pollinating but is often pollinated with Pendolino or Leccino. The fresh olives of Frantoio are small-medium sized, purple-black and have a nutty flavor as does the oil.
