Forsythia koreana 'Kumsum' plant details

This is the Forsythia to grow. An excellent variety that goes above and beyond the usual show of early yellow flowers on bare-wood before leaves emerge. This variety is prized for beautiful foliage with silver veins, plus rosy shades in the fall, making an ornamental contribution in throughout the year. A medium size arching shrub, around 4-6 feet tall and wide. We like plants that offer multiple seasons of interest, and this forsythia passes the test.

Nursery contributed plant descriptions

STUNNING! in leaf as well as flower, the leaves of this gracefully arching shrub are brilliantly, vividly etched with a network of silver veins; handsome yellow flowers join the picture in spring. S-PSh/M
Kumson Forsythia has almost year-round interest: bare branches covered with golden yellow flowers in spring, beautifully white-veined leaves in summer, varied fall leaf color. Best foliage of any forsythia. Kumson Forsythia is one of the first plants to bloom each spring! This shrub may need occasional pruning.
From Korea, a new forsythia on the scene, growing to about 4-6 ft and providing creamy yellow flowers in January, for us, in February and March in colder climates. The leaves present the most unique feature, patterned and veined with cream and white, the patterns becoming infused with pink and maroon as the late fall color settles in, for year round-interest rather than the one-shot show that forsythias usually provide. Plant as with other forsythias in sun to dappled shade and provide summer water in dry climes. Frost hardy to USDA zone 6.
Upright and arching - leaves are green with silver veining. As with all Forsythia, blooms in early spring before leaving out.
Green leaves with an intricate pattern of silver veins. Same yellow flowers.

A unique plant, the deep green leaves are netted with white veins, flowers are the typical yellow borne on arching stems. The Spring Meadow guys brought this back from Korea, not a bad trip, there were a few other goodies and they certainly had the red carpet treatment.
Like most Forsythia, this beautiful variety starts blooming in April long before the leaves form.? Unlike most Forsythia, the foliage on this great variety have an interesting net-like variegation pattern, adding summer long interest.? It also has fairly reliable burgundy fall color.? This is one of my favorite Forsythia varieties on the market.
A unique new variegated forsythia that was discovered by Spring Meadow in Korea. The dark green leaves are accented with a beautiful network of silver veins. It has the typical yellow forsythia flowers and graceful, upright, arching habit. Best in part shade in warm areas. The Variegated foliage moves this Forsythia out of the 'one season' Spring category into a delightful 3-Season shrub.

Arching stems on plants that reach 4-6' tall and wide with the usual yellow flowers. The foliage however has vibrant silver veins for a long season of interest.
Is a moderate growing forsythia with typical yellow flowers in February. The main difference is the creamy-white veining on the dark green leaves.
