This may be America's favorite Siberian iris; beautiful rich violet-blue flowers with elaborately patterned petals, a cast iron constitution and a tendency to form large clumps in just a few year. Caesar's Brother typically flowers May to June, bridging the gap between spring and summer blooms. Narrow, grassy foliage offers strong vertical accents throughout the season. Caesar's Brother's flowers are lovely; delicately beautiful and lightly fragrant. Deer resistant.

Elegant deep violet-blue flowers held up on strong stems. Like all the sibiricas it has lovely and structurally upright foliage with an elegance of form and structure all season. Divide when the roots have formed a circle. Photo courtesy of Walters Gardens.
This 3' stand-out fills the Iris blooming-gap between the Beardeds ; the Japanese in mid-summer with its dark, velvety-blue flowers; developed in the 1930' s it is still one of the best ; favoritest! Sun/Med
