Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Aconitum 'Arendsii' is a very popular stocky monkshood with large purple-blue hooded flowers. The leaves are thick and leathery with a glossy surface and are broadly dissected into tri-lobed sections. Full sun to part shade. A great vertical accent for sun to part shade. All parts of the plant are poisonous so don't use it in salads. Photo courtesy of Walters Gardens.
These amethyst-blue hooded flowers combine well with Kniphofia & Anemone in the late summer garden & make fine cut flowers; a stately upright clump to 6' with glossy deeply-cut leaves attractive all season; poisonous. Sun-PSh/Med-Wet
