Symphyotrichum sericeum is a broadleaf deciduous perennial with blue and green foliage. In fall and summer purple flowers emerge. Features fuzzy texture. Attracts bees, beneficial insects, birds and butterflies making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun and regular water. Does well in gritty and well-drained soil.
?Like silvery silk? (G.S. Thomas), the grey leaves of this bushy 2? plant perfectly complement its deep-violet to rose-purple 1-2" flowers; from the mountains of NC to MI, a hardy and beautiful wildflower for sunny spots. S/M
