Hemerocallis 'Happy Returns' is a broadleaf deciduous perennial with green foliage. In fall and summer yellow flowers emerge. Happy Returns' is a repeat-blooming cultivar which features three and a half inch in diameter, ruffled, lemon yellow flowers on stems to 18 inches tall above a clump of arching, linear, blade-like leaves. Individual flowers open for one day though large clumps will bloom for weeks at a time. Mildly fragrant. Happy Returns is a cheerful early blooming daylily with pale yellow flowers that bloom in profusion in late spring or early summer. The plants are low and compact growing to about 16" tall. Flowers appear early in the morning and remain open for at least 16 hours. An excellent daylily for edging or groundcover.
