    Corylus colurna is a broadleaf deciduous tree with green foliage. In spring catkins and yellow flowers emerge. Attracts birds. Grows well with sun - mostly shade and regular - occasional water. Drought tolerant once established. Adapts to various soil conditions. Does well in acidic and well-drained soil.

    Turkish Filbert is an adaptable plant that tolerates both drought and wet soils. The brown bark exfoliates in small, scaly plates. Dark green 2-3” leaves are resistant to insects and diseases. In March male flowers appears in 2-3” catkins. This tree may be a good choice for use as a street tree.
