Handsome and easy to grow. Deer resistant.
This vigorous hybrid of D. affinis and D. filix-mas is a brilliant fern which is well adapted to any shady, cool, moist spot in the woodland, but is also surprisingly drought-tolerant once established. This dense 3-5' selection features long, leathery, somewhat ruffled fronds which emerge light-green before maturing to dark jade-green. The elegant fronds are vertical and dignified. This fern is semi-evergreen in warm climates and completely deciduous in cold climates. An excellent specimen whether planted singly or massed. PSh-Sh/M
