Nursery contributed plant descriptions

The wonderful rose is native to the central U.S. between the Appalachian and Rocky mountains. This smaller (1- 3') densely bristled rose has one inch; fragrant, single flowers which can be pale-pink to dark-pink and often bicolored! Autumn brings bright-red round fruits which are very attractive to birds and wildlife. This species is quite drought-tolerant and was among the few species to survive the American 'Dust Bowl'. S/M-D
