Nursery contributed plant descriptions

"One of the finest late-flowering shrubs, the whole bush becoming a feathery mass of rose-pink" (Hillier); gray-green foliage. S/M-D (Sorry, we can't ship this plant to California.)
The overall effect of this plant is soft, whispy and airy, rather as if it was being shot in soft focus for a romantic scene in an old movie. Feather green foliage and equally feathery profuse dark pink flowers born for a long period over the summer. Forms a large shrub with a slightly rangy growth habit, generally less than twenty feet, though old specimens can get very large indeed. Easy to grow and a totally different look than any other shrub in the garden. Zone 5.
Interesting silver fern-like foliage produces rosy flower spikes all summer. Tolerant of most soil types. Often referred to as Salt Cedar due to its tolerance of salt spray. One of the finest and hardiest of all Tamarix. Trimming back each year will help keep a more compact appearance. Grows 8-10' tall and 6-8' wide.
