Brandywine' is a male selection (seedless) eventually maturing to 35-50' tall, its 3-5 lobed leaves are bright-green above with a blue-gray bloom beneath, the fall color is a vivid scarlet that deepens to reddish-purple; a delightful result of a 1982 cross between 'October Glory' and 'Autumn flame' conducted as part of a U.
