Lovely as a shade tree, this 40-60' riparian species forms a beautiful broad crown. The young bark is smooth and grayish-green becoming dark gray-brown and deeply furrowed with age. The bright-green leaves are pinnately compound with 5-7 leaflets each turning a vivid yellow in the fall. A fine hardwood lumber and fuel wood; it splits easily and burns readily and hot. S-M/W
