Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Offering a delightful kaleidoscope of color, this sturdy 3 footer has 3" flowers which open yellow but turn red as they mature; a fine intro. from Marco van Noort. S/M PP
Too many of the new Echinacea hybrids have come and gone in our gardens. There are a few that have proven more durable and 'Hot Summer' is one. Selected for its increased vigor and the multi tone effect of its petals, opening golden orange and changing to tomato red as the blossoms age. Sturdy 30-36" stems support the 3 1/2 - 4 1/2" flowers. One things for sure, butterflies will find this coneflower in your garden.
Sizzling, red orange, double cones with falling tails heat up the sun border in summer. Contrasting dark burgundy, sturdy stems. Upright, with lance-shaped leaves. From the Cone-fections Series which offers reliably hardy, very floriferous, stocky plants with strong sturdy stems. Wonderful planted en masse and superb as a cut flower. Echinacea in coastal BC should be planted in hot, dry, sunny spots with thin, average to poor soils for best overwintering. Photo courtesy of Walters Gardens.
