Nursery contributed plant descriptions

The bluest of the Panicums and hardiest of the virgatums, this superb selection was discovered growing wild in a Wisconsin meadow by Roger Gettig. Its silvery inflorescences have tiny rust-colored accents, and 'Prairie Sky's fast growing foliage spawns a cool blue fusion when associated with Yucca 'Sapphire Skies' and Eryngium 'Big Blue'.
Handsome muted blue-gray, upright foliage to 4' with airy flower stems rising an additional 2'. The bluest of the Panicums we have seen, holds attractive foliage till late September in our garden then slowly turns to sandy hues in winter. Rich blue color provides a long season of interest. Plant in full sun or part shade with moderate to occasional garden water. With excessive water, plants lose their strong vertical habit. Hardy to 0F. Eastern North America.
Turquoise-blue, like the "forever" sky above their prairie home, this exceptional introduction has sturdy upright 3' stems topped in fall by clouds of wine-red flowers. Sun/Med
