An erect, densely clumping, woody rootstocked, evergreen perennial, tolerant of dry soils and exposure. Whorls of pink-mauve flowers, held along slender stems, are borne profusely throughout the warmer months. Cut to the ground anytime it is looking tatty and you will quickly be rewarded with a new crop of the large, wedge shaped, toothed, grey green leaves.A tall Catmint, excellent in drifts or even entire fields. One of the staple plants of any perennial garden. It's mounds of large leaves give often needed backbone while the softness of both the foliage and flowers prevents any stiffness or formality.
