Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A new, more compact form of this graceful, aromatic subshrub whose silver leaves set off its spikes of lavender-blue late summer flowers in such a lovely way. S/M-D/GDr
Grey-white foliage and airy blue-lavender flowers. Does best with dry hot conditions, forming a lovely haze of colour at the middle to back of the border against which so many colours go well. The hotter the location, the happier the Perovskia. The foliage of 'Longin' is not as dissected as the species and is similar to 'Little Spire'. 'Longin' also tends to have a narrower and more upright habit than others in this species. Photo courtesy of Walters Gardens.
Smaller than species but taller/more upright than Little Spire
A marginally more compact selection of the species, 3-4 feet tall, but otherwise just like the species. Which isn't a bad thing, I suppose, since the species is pretty darn nice. Hard to say no to giant masses of purple flowers in the late summer and a exceptional lack of fussiness. Zone 5
Darker purple flowers than the species.
