For the summer garden or potted container, this S. guaranitica hybrid brings forth rising sprays of dark purple blooms. Robust in stature, its dark green aromatic leaves quickly fill in that empty space from spring to fall. We use young propagations for summer bedding where height and late summer bloom are needed.
A mainstay at the back of the border, this regal Salvia is a cross between Salvia guaranitica and Salvia gesneraeflora. Rising above the textured mint-green leaves, spikes of vibrant violet-blue blooms add glorious color all summer until frost, and are adored by hummingbirds everywhere. With its upright stance and cool shades, 'Purple Majesty' complements the warmer hues of Helianthus angustifolius (Pale Form) for a splendid autumn union.
A shrubby, clumping perennial. Mid to light green heart shaped leaves in alternate pairs on strong straight stems. Throughout autumn and winter, deep purple tubular hooded flowers (5cm), are produced in loose spikes. Does best with some light shade and protection from wind. A hybrid between S. gesneriiflora 'Tequila' and S. guaranitica
