Named after the English plantswoman who discovered it, this robust, yet graceful chance seedling provides a soothing place for the eye to rest. The low silver-green mound of finely feathered foliage looks decorative even before the many, many gold-centered, creamy yellow daisies appear. In harmony with the foliage, the versatile long blooming flowers pale to alabaster tones, mixing easily with hot or cool color schemes.
Grey green ferny leaves and large soft yellow daisy flowers on long stems make this chamomile one of the best.Quickly forming large patches and tolerant of drought it is at it's best repeated along paths or at the feet of roses.Try planting it with hybrid Penstemons, Achilleas and Kniphofias for a classic perennial border or just add Nepeta 'Walker's Low' for simple perfection.A quick dead heading with the whipper snipper is all that's required to prolong flowering and tidy up for winter.Good drainage essential.
