This handsome clump-forming 10-20' hybrid horsechestnut tree has shiny, dark green leaves which are yellow-green on the undersides and showy 4-8" orange-red flower panicles which are hummingbird magnets, flowers become smooth light brown seed capsules with the shiny brown chestnuts inside (very similar to A. pavia, except that on this species the flowers have hairs, those of A. pavia do not); a wonderful garden specimen.
