Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Long time magnolia hybrid from the Arnold Arboretum in the 40's and 50's. This plant was grown by many nurseries in the 60's-70's, but isn't grown as much lately. Which is sad. It's still a healthy quick grower that is narrow and will get to 25' and covers itself with white flowers in March.
An outstanding small tree, 10-25', hardy and floriferous, freely producing its large white, fragrant, strap-petalled flowers at a young age. S/M
