Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This is a new cultivar of Helleborus foetidus with pure golden leaves. Its leathery, deeply cut evergreen foliage will provide a bright touch of colour and texture to the garden throughout the year. It has creamy green flowers with burgundy edges that bloom in late winter. Unlike the Lenten rose, which is tolerant of shadier spots, this species prefers to be grown in full to part sun.
We're giddy about this gorgeous, chartreusey leaved choice pick for DRY-SHADE! Golden new growth packs a punch pretty much anywhere you put it & once established it even tolerates droughty conditions. Deeply divided, darn right pretty leaves are evergreen, but come mid-Winter through Spring, 1" wide, lemony-lime green flowers edged in deep red put on a show atop 20" maroon tinged stems. Bonus points for being clay tolerant. Growing to 20-24" high & wide, don't let foetidus (meaning stinky) scare you. It only refers to the mild odor when the leaves are crushed. I'd love to see it combined with dark purple leaved Ageratum corymbosum.
Eye-catching chartreuse new growth! adds interest to the always lovely evergreen foliage of this 20-24" shade mounder, especially when topped by nodding golden-yellow cup-flowers; a charmer from England. Shade-PSh/Med
