Hardy in zones 6-9, this often overlooked shade garden plant glows with golden leaves all season. Flowers are incidental; you're growing this plant for its fun foliage. Called piggy back plant because of the way new leaves form on top of older ones, this is a plant to use in areas with wet soil. It also makes a great container plant! Grows 8-12" tall and 12" or more wide.

Cool Gold' has a soft, cool, clear gold foliage that retains its colour throughout the season. It's fast growing and makes a wonderful bright spot in the shade garden. This is a gold version of the BC native piggyback plant that graces the shady spaces of coastal BC. The common name comes from the habit of piggyback plant to produce young plantlets that sit on top of the mature foliage before falling to the ground to root in.
