Allium senescens 'Pink Planet' is a broadleaf deciduous perennial bulb / corm / tuber with blue foliage. In summer pink flowers emerge. Features grassy texture. Attracts bees, beneficial insects and butterflies making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun - mostly sun and regular - low water. Drought tolerant once established. Ornamental onions offer intriguing spherical or egg-shaped inflorescences comprised of hundreds of tiny flowers. Allium 'Pink Planet' is a semi-sterile A. senescens hybrid with bluish-green, twisting foliage and dense balls of silver-pink flowers on 18 inch stems in late summer. A distinctive and interesting ornamental plant in both flower and foliage for the front of the border or rock gardens.
An Intrinsic Introduction! A semi-sterile selection we found as a seedling in our fields about 10 years ago. Related to senescens, it has matte gray green twisting foliage. Dense balls of pink on 18" stems start at the end of August and bloom at least a month. Full sun, well drained soil.
