Clematis Royal Velours has elegant round flowers made up of four dark reddish purple petals. The stamens are small and don't pull attention away from the deeply veined petals which curve back at the outer edges giving it a slightly puffed look. This midsummer to early fall bloomer shows up well against light backgrounds or grown through light colored shrub or roses. Blooms midsummer to early fall.
