Its common names of ?Coralbeads? or ?Red Moonseeds? pretty well describe the dense 5" clusters of showy red pea-sized fruits which decorate this 12' twining native vine in late summer. S/M
Cocculus carolinus or Carolina Moonseed is easy and adaptable vine for a wide range of soil and cultural conditions. The foliage is clean and has a nice texture as a backdrop for many other plant but this vine really shines in late summer and fall when the large clusters of berries turn bright red! Insignificant flowers. Also known as Carolina Snailseed. Both common names come from the crescent shape of the seed. This plant is easily managed in a smaller space and is often seen growing on fences and mailboxes. Native Vine.
