Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This delightful version of the eastern United States native Virginia creeper vine features smaller leaves and a somewhat less vigorous habit. Reaching 25-40' and featuring pretty, deep-green leaves made of up five small leaflets. Inconspicuous green summer flowers become small dark-blue berries which are beautiful on the wine-colored stems. This plant is at its best in autumn when the entire vine lights up a distinct bronzy-red color. The vine attaches with suckers to grow up trellises and walls or it can be used as a groundcover. Some pruning may be necessary to keep it in bounds. S-PSh/M
This is the Engelmannii selection of the classic native Virgina Creeper vine. It has a smaller leaf structure than the species. A nice selection! Vigorous and beautiful in summer and flaming red in fall. A great choice for covering large areas of unsightly concrete block or anything else. Self-clinging and best fall color is in full sun to partial shade.
