Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Pure, velvety elegance describes these purple petals punctuated by a soft white starburst center! The 7-12’ size makes this deciduous vine useful in many locations and ideal for a trellis or perhaps sharing the space of a yellow or apricot colored climbing rose? Blooms summer and into fall if cut back 50% after first flush. To see it is to love it! Sun is best but will take some shade, decent soil, support...well you know the drill.
It produces 4 inch flowers with distinctive purple veins threading through the white center bar of the sepals. Blooms appear from midsummer through early fall. This beautiful hybrid was given the Award of Garden Merit (AGM) by the Royal Horticultural Society. Try growing it through chartreuse foliaged plants! Lemoine, France, 1883.
