Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Large semi double violet blue flowers with ring of larger sepals and a boss of central sepals that appear silvery at first, then expands to a starburst with age. Blooms heavily in May and then again later in the summer. Blooms on old wood in the spring, so only prune dead tips. Will bloom on new growth later in the summer. Grow in sun but shade the roots with ground cover or mulch. Grows 7-8'.
It boasts stunning, fully double, deep blue flowers in late spring that can be up to 5 inches across. Blooms repeat (sometimes semi-double) in late summer. Can be excellent in a large container or along a wall, so long as the wall does not face north. Sport of Clematis 'The President' from J. Bouter and Zoon of Holland, 1983. Looks great with the foliage of Actinidia Kolomikta!
A sport of 'The President', this charmer has dark blue double flowers. The inner ring of petals is curled to form an almost spiked cushion of dark blue and white and the anthers are virtually absent. [Group A, May-June - September, 6']
