    Hibiscus moscheutos plant details

    Hibiscus moscheutos is a broadleaf deciduous perennial aquatic with blue and green foliage. In summer white flowers emerge followed by brown fruit. Attracts butterflies and hummingbirds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun - mostly shade and even moisture - high water. Does well in alkaline soil.

    Quite a variable species, and the parent of many of the hybrid hardy perennial hibiscus. Tall, up to 6 foot, with large flowers that can reach nearly a foot across, in various shades of pink. Native to swampy areas, but is quite happy in normal garden conditions. Zone 5

    This native perennial Hibiscus boasts 6" wide white to pink flowers with a dark burgundy eye. Common to moist and wet areas as the name implies but is quite happy in average garden soils. A vigorous and hardy native perennial that can reach 7' but is more commonly found at 4'. A butterfly larval host plant for Hairstreaks, Blues, Coppers, and others.
