This gorgeous cultivar is remarkable for its vigorous habit, extra-large brilliant-white flowers which bloom extra-profusely and its disease resistance! The gorgeous white-blossoms in late-spring become large, showy, bright-red edible fruits in autumn. A wonderful landscape specimen, this pretty little 15-20' tree has an appealing, dense, spreading habit. It was developed by Elwin R. Orton, Jr and released by Rutgers University S-PSh/M PP16309
Marietta and Ernie O'Byrne (see hellebores) have been recommending this plant to us for a while. We have been seeing many plants in our area recently. The large flowers look much like our native C. nuttallii. This fast grower will be covered with these large white brachts.
Deciduous tree with an upright, oval shape at maturity. Vigorous, disease resistant hybrid that will be a lovely sight, especially in early spring, when it will show off its 6" wide white flowers. Deep green foliage turns to a reddish-purple in the fall. Growth Rate fast
An Elwin Orton hybrid from Rutgers University, this one has huge white flowers and is resistant to the fungal problems that plague seedling flowering dogwoods. Our stock plants flower for a month, mid May to mid-June.
Large 5-6" white flowers, red-orange fall color. Little to no fruit. Disease resistant. USDA zones 6-9.
