Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Possibly one of the nicest mountain-ashes for its dense, well-rounded habit, large flat flower clusters, scarlet fruits; simple (not compounded as most Sorbus) leaves have good orange fall color. S/M
A heavy-flowering species of Mountain Ash from Korea, Sorbus alnifolia is resistant to the borers and canker that attack other Ash species. The flowers are creamy-white and cover the plant during the spring and are followed by bright colored berries that remain on the tree through the summer, fall, and early winter. The berries can range in color from pink, orange, or scarlet red and are an excellent winter food source for birds. The fall leaf color is also quite dramatic, featuring a bright golden-orange color for several weeks.
These trees are best suited for cooler climates and trees do not thrive in the southern states where there is extended high heat and humidity during the summer.
White flowers in summer, yellow to orange berries fall, yellow fall color. Hardy to Zone 4.
