Gravenstein Apple is a broadleaf deciduous fruit / vegetable or tree with green foliage. In spring pink and white flowers emerge followed by red fruit. Grows well with sun - shade and regular water. Does well in clay, gritty and rich soil.
Fruit color varies, but is usually greenish-yellow with red stripes. The Gravenstein is crisp, juicy, aromatic and has a disctinctive sweetly-tart flavor. A fantastic choice for sauces and pies, as well as being the standard for summer eating apples. Great pollinizer for most all other apple varieties.
