    Jeanne Gooseberry is a broadleaf deciduous fruit / vegetable or shrub with green foliage. In spring cream flowers emerge followed by red fruit. Attracts bees, beneficial insects and birds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with mostly sun - mostly shade and regular water. Does well in average, rich and well-drained soil.

    The truth is I hate most gooseberries: they have horrible thorns and get mildew and leafspot so even the delicious ones are a pain. Well, we may have turned a corner. Jeanne does have tiny thorns but the fruit is large, red, thin skinned, and delicious and the bush is vigorous and pest free. YES!
