    Swedish Black Currant is a broadleaf deciduous fruit / vegetable or shrub with green foliage. In spring cream flowers emerge followed by black fruit. Attracts bees, birds and hummingbirds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with mostly sun - mostly shade and regular water. Does well in well-drained soil.

    Ribes nigrum 'Swedish Black' is a superior black currant variety with firm, large, sweet, juicy, and mild berries with the distinctive black currant aroma. Berries are sweeter and less acidic than most other cultivars. Plants are compact to just 3 feet high and wide. Currants are much higher in vitamin C than oranges. A very hardy and disease resistant, upright growing bush.
