Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Magnolia 'Hypoleuca' is a big tree (60') in our garden. The large (18") leaves make a tropical effect. But has been hardy to -12°. Grafted on M. tripelala, the flowers are creamy white and 6" across in May-June. They have a wonderful tropical fruit scent.
Flowering in June, this large tree is not subject to frost damage; the flowers are creamy cups with crimson centers and very fragrant. The red fruit is attractive in the fall. Zone 6.
