Deciduous. A small form with upward-facing curled leaves that hold a few drops of water. The leaves appearing first are rolled, others are dissected. Makes a unique small specimen.
If you are looking for an usual and beautiful specimen try this very rare form of Ginkgo, the young foliage emerges with the leaf edges rolled in to form tubes, as the trees age the leaves come out more flattened, but still with interesting folds and variable shapes, the autumn color looks patterned with the distinct shadows in the leaves; a slow-growing small tree eventually reaching 20-25'. S/M
There are way more ginkgo cultivars out there than you can imagine until you start collecting them from around the world. This charming variety is distinctive for its small leaves - in conical shapes, especially on lateral branches or spurs.
Leaves tend to be rolled into tubes; the effect is most pronounced on vigorous juvenile shoots, although many cultivars have the occasional tubed or dissected leaf.
This Ginkgo has leaves that curl and form small tubes upon emerging to add an interesting texture to this tree. Older leaves are more typical. Tubeleaf Ginkgo makes a upright tree with time, but only grows 6" - 12" per year
