A very unusual Ginkgo grown from a pendulous witch's broom; this fabulous dwarf (5-10') is narrow and upright with graceful pendulous branches and more deeply cut 'fish-tail' leaves. This unique shrub/tree would be a perfect specimen piece for a smaller garden or anywhere you want an interesting focal point; a nice find by Rich Eyre and Mike Dirkson in Springfield,IL. S/M
A very curious new small tree, this weeping Ginkgo has an upright leader and horizontal-to-pendulous side branches. Leaves of the slow-growing deciduous conifer vary in size, shape and thickness and some display lime-green variegation.
Small, rounded leaves are a dark green throughout the growing season turning a golden-yellow in the fall. Can be grown as a dense ball or staked upright. A recent introduction from Europe.
Very recent introduction with mutant foliage of up to 5 distinct leaf forms in addition to occasional variegation of lime and dark green. AKA 'Mutant Weeper'.
Bizarre is the best word for this tree; it does weep; in fact it must be staked to avoid becoming a ground cover, but the leaves are truly strange: a few are normal, but many are linear. One important fact is that the tree is a female. Therefore if there are males in the neighborhood, you will get fruit. If you clean it, you can roast the nuts; they are delicious.
