Vibrant colors on the leaves of this upright Japanese maple give it a varied appearance at every time of year. The leaf veins are prominent with multicolored reticulation further adding to the contrast. A unique plant that really glows!
Grandma Ghost Japanese Maple has a stunning spring show. Light green leaves appear in early spring, turning to shades of pink as it warms into late spring. Grandma Ghost Japanese Maple has one of the most stunning reticulated leaves of Japanese maples. This variegated variety prefers afternoon shade for peak performance.
Variegated new leaves in shades amber, cream and green with bright pink veins changing to green and then gold-and-red in fall make this compact (10-12' x 4-6') Buchholz Nursery introduction a must-have treat for the border. S-PSh/M
Grandma Ghost is another maple in the ‘Ghost Series’ developed by Talon Buchholz of Buchholz and Buchholz Nursery in Gaston, Oregon. Grandma Ghost is a moderate growing cultivar and may reach 6 -7′ in 10 years. The first photo shows the beautiful green reticulated leaves. The term reticulated relates to the visibility of the veins in the leaves. In the spring the light green leaves appear and then as summer progresses the leaves are tinged with pink/lavender in the center. This provides an unusual look that is distinctive in the Ghost Series. This cultivar, as with most variegated maples prefers some shade in hot afternoon sun. Fall color is scarlet red. As a dwarf maple, Grandma Ghost is also suitable for container gardening. A collector’s must. Once established this cultivar is hardy to USDA zone 5.

The leaves of this small to medium-sized tree display a unique type of variegation; a network of green veins over a backdrop of creamy yellow, often with tinges of pink along the edges. Fall color is orange and golden. Growth Rate slow- medium
As one of the Ghost series developed by Talon Buchholz, 'Grandma Ghost' is a fine example of deep green reticulated foliage. In spring, the "throat" of each leaf may appear pink, giving it a distinctive appearance. Fall colors are gold and orange. This tree will grow to 8-10 ft in 10 years and provide double-take notice in any shady area of your garden.
Another very nice variety for the ghost series. This one has light green leave with darker veins in the leaves. Spring leaves are overlaid with hints of red and pink. Very nice!
New leaves amber, cream & pale green with pink veins. Fall colors gold and red. Hardy to USDA zone 5
As with all the Ghosts, it is the spring show that grabs you; this medium upright spreader is fairly nondescript throughout the summer
