O isami is truly a spectacular Japanee Maple. The leaves of this variety are big and beautiful dark green during the summer. The popularity of this variety is because of its stunning fall colors, which are bright blends of reds, yellows and oranges, sometimes all in the same leaf.
Acer japonicum 'O isami' - A green form of Full Moon Maple. Leaf is about 4 inches in diameter. Has 9 to 11 lobes that are divided into the middle of the leaf. The ends of the lobes are tapered and are deeply notched. Fall color is red and yellow.
Large, orbicular green leaves not as deeply-divided as the genus. In fall the edges of the leaves color first with shades of yellow, orange, and red. Strongly branched and sturdy growing.
