Acer buergerianum cultivars are a great favorite with bonsai enthusiasts and this Small Leaf Variegate would be perfect for them because it is on its own root where as most of the cultivars are grafted. However the ones I have are sprawly and would need a lot of shaping; they also don't have too much variegation and the fall color in the greenhouse was pretty minimal. So the upshot of all these 'howevers' is that you bonsai people better order this plant or I will not continue it.
