Rare and special! This dwarf rounded 6-8' tree/shrub has beautiful and quite unusual foliage consisting of three narrow lobes that look as if they have been stretched. The two basal lobes are at right-angles to a long finely-tipped center. Foliage emerges a soft apple-green in spring and become lacquered orange-red in the fall. Winter shows off the attractive furrowed bark. This makes a wonderful accent or container plant and would be a very distinctive hedge! S-PSh/M
Narrow leaves are almost strap-like and somewhat cupped on this dwarf, shrubby variety of the Trident maple.
A unique and rare form of Trident Maple. Triple-lobed leaves are distinct due to their "T-shaped" form. Spring foliage is rich, glossy-green. Fall colors include yellow, orange, to bright maroon, all simultaneously. This is an excellent variety for its extremely unique look. Like all Tridents, this tree is perfect for bonsai work. Extremely rare due to the difficulty in propagation.
Mino yatsubusa's leaves look like they have been on a rack: three long narrow lobes. Very dwarf plant, hardy but difficult to propagate. Great fall color as shown by this photo from Michael Healy.
